Fairview Housing Management Corporation was founded on May 28, 1970 in Tazewell, VA.
Originally focused on low-income and subsidized affordable housing, Fairview Housing programs have included the management and development affordable rental housing, transitional, recovery and supportive housing, supportive services to families and individuals experiencing housing a crisis, new construction of an affordable home ownership , residential substance abuse and recovery housing and several community service programs in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
Throughout our 50 year history Fairview Housing has sought to fulfill our mission to provide safe, decent and quality affordable housing and services to the people of Southern Appalachia in a variety of need-based settings. Recognizing the large deficit and virtual non-existence of transitional and supportive during the late 1990’s, Fairview began developing units for at risk and formerly homeless individuals and families primarily in the Tri-Cities region of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. We have literally housed tens of thousands of our friends and neighbors in Southern Appalachia.
Today, Fairview Housing programs have focused increasingly on housing and support services for our most at-risk neighbors, those experiencing housing insecurity, homelessness or those in seeking safe affordable options for substance abuse recovery.
Our vision is that no person is denied access to safe, decent and appropriately supportive housing based solely on their ability to pay for the basic human need of shelter.
Fairview Housing is registered a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation headquartered in Johnson City, Tennessee.
